■ Product Overview
Overvoltage protector testers are widely used for testing the power-frequency discharge voltage of various electrical devices, particularly for gap‑type zinc oxide surge arresters. ( Also known as a lightning arrester or TBP) The power-frequency discharge voltage test offers unique advantages. This tester employs a novel specialized circuit to monitor the waveform of the test voltage while simultaneously acquiring discharge pulse signals from the current circuit. It automatically detects gap discharges, locks in the peak voltage at the moment of discharge, and issues an audible alarm to alert the operator. At the same time, it promptly disconnects the test power supply, safeguarding both the test specimen and the testing equipment from overcurrent damage. The instrument integrates a power-frequency high-voltage power supply, measurement, and control functions into a single compact aluminum‑alloy enclosure, which is small in size, lightweight, shock‑resistant, and easy to carry.
