Based on the current state of ampere‑second characteristic testing for DC protective devices, a portable, highly automated DC switch ampere‑second characteristic tester has been developed, suitable for field use in substations. This instrument provides operational and maintenance personnel with a means to test the operating characteristics of DC protective devices and to verify their operating performance and coordination among stages, thereby enhancing the reliability of DC system operation and ensuring the safe and dependable functioning of the power grid.
