What types of test transformers are there, and how do they differ?
发布时间:2022-04-07
Experimental transformers, also known as AC test transformers, high‑voltage power test transformers, ultra‑lightweight high‑voltage test transformers, cascaded high‑voltage test transformers, AC/DC high‑voltage test transformers, high‑voltage boosters, high‑voltage withstand testers, and high‑voltage dielectric strength testers, are broadly categorized into gas‑filled, oil‑immersed, and dry‑type types. Their key characteristics differ as follows: Compared with conventional oil‑immersed test transformers, this series achieves a weight reduction of 20% to 60% (depending on voltage and capacity ratings), eliminates oil contamination, and can deliver output voltages of up to 300 kV per unit. Thanks to the adoption of advanced manufacturing processes, these products exhibit significantly improved technical performance, making them particularly well suited for field applications and conditions involving frequent relocation.

This product series features the following characteristics: In terms of insulation structure, based on the “spacing effect” principle of transformer oil, it employs a multi‑layer insulation design that divides the internal insulation into multiple oil passages, thereby enhancing insulation performance and reducing the overall footprint. It also resolves the oil leakage issue found in the TDM series transformers. Since the TDM series lacks an oil conservator, excessive temperature changes can cause the oil to contract and leak from the oil drain plug. By contrast, this new series places the oil‑filling port at the top of the bushing, allowing the oil within the bushing to communicate directly with the oil in the transformer tank. Consequently, this bushing not only serves functions such as mounting silicon stacks, shorting bars, and excitation rods, but also effectively acts as an oil conservator for the transformer.
This product series employs metal fixed leads and voltage equalization, thereby eliminating discharge phenomena. The tank design is compact, with a modern appearance, small dimensions, and light weight. The core is a single-frame type, constructed from DQ‑grade 0.30 mm cold‑rolled grain‑oriented silicon steel laminations, secured with a new specialized material that replaces the conventional through‑core bolts. The windings are concentric cylindrical, featuring a multi‑layer tower‑type structure.
